WHAT A REFRESHMENT!

Many of you are driving by and hearing about the Big Brown Church getting a facelift. It is being renewed, refreshed, and rejuvenated. The Church (His Church) being built in the 1940’s was probably painted before, however the appearance for quite a while has been aging and looking like the 1940’s.

Back to “What a Refreshment”, The Big Brown Church, because of it’s presence in Wallowa County, has been through many changes, challenges, and effects upon it’s body. The body of the external appearance is one thing, but the body of the Church and its members (before, during, & after), all have experienced opinions, mood swings, and perspectives through the decades that create questions of just the who and what the Big Brown Church is.

A funny example that I have used once or twice in a Sunday message goes like this; If I remember a person I went to high school with today and think of who they are. The only characterization that I have is through who they were when I knew them. Likewise for the Big Brown Church, Enterprise Community Congregational Church.

The body of the church may age both externally and internally, but the spirit of our living God never changes. Hebrews 13:8 (ESV), Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”. Through the love, cleansing, renewal, refreshment, and rejuvenation in Jesus Christ all things are new. God’s spirit always brings change (especially if it is His Church).

Things are happening and many people are part of it. If it is all for the Glory of God, who knows just where HE is leading us too next?

Blessings and come anytime, Pastor John Chamberlain
